In late 2010 Peruvian trumpet player, Oswaldo Rojas, partnered with another fellow musician to create a band that could play all kinds of tropical music. From there, they started with the selection of musicians. They decided to continue the musical project with former band members who were dedicated to performing great Latin music. Sonora la Rebelion embraces a variety of musicians from different countries including Japan, Venezuela, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Puerto Rico, and the Philippines - nine musicians creating one wall of sound that will MOVE you. They have risen in popularity in the Northwest, where they are delighting hundreds of fans. This orchestra really enjoys seeing their audience dancing to their versatile repertoire. Along with the beautiful and talented Elimar Ugueto on lead female vocals, La Rebelion will be performing music FOR DANCERS at this year's Seattle Salsa Congress. Elimar began singing since age 5 and from there, began her passion for the microphone and the media. One of the greatest satisfactions in her career was singing to 50,000 people in a velodrome, an event that was televised nationally via the most-watched program in Venezuela. She is also a model and co-produces radio and TV commercials along with managing her own marketing firm.
So there you have it. Nine seasoned musicians ready to rock your world, a state-of-the-art sound system, and a beautiful suspended floor with plenty of room to dance - this is SALSA PARADISE!
