Salsa Caliente
The first time that Christina Morrison ever experienced salsa was when a friend of hers from the ballroom dance club took her to a local Friday night dance at Cafe Merengue. When she felt the friendliness of the people and the expression and the rhythm of the music and of the dances, she knew that this was the type of dancing that she wanted to concentrate on. For the next six years, she took lessons in Vancouver, BC and Seattle, WA and performed with and choreographed for various local bands. In 1999, she was asked to choreograph and perform a show at the ICA Folk Fest in Victoria, BC and due to the overwhelming response received, she began to teach classes of her own and formed the performance group ¡SALSA CALIENTE!
Since then, Christina has performed and taught with various partners at fundraisers, parties and nightclubs locally as well as internationally. She has performed at the East Coast Salsa Congress with with Seattle dance company, Rumba Brava, at the West Coast Salsa Congress with Seattle dance company Somos El Son, and at the Canada Salsa Congress with New Jersey dance company Cultural Explosion. Her dance company, ¡SALSA CALIENTE!, has grown from a beginner group to a group of some of Victoria's best dancers. In the last five years, ¡SALSA CALIENTE! has traveled to perform at congresses all over the world. Christina was a featured model in the 2004 Salsa Women of Canada calendar done as a fundraiser for breast cancer research and was chosen as the choreographer for BC on Salsa Team Canada.

Salsa Mania
In 1997 John and Liz decided to take a step ahead in the Salsa World. Putting in numerous hours every week — creating, choreographing, and learning — they soon became professional salsa dancers, competing, performing and teaching all over the Bay Area.
The stepping stone that lead them to start their own dance company was by competing. This was to build their credibility as dancers and teachers in the San Francisco salsa community. One of the local contests where the MTV Telemundo salsa competition, where they bagged the first prize. In 2001, John and Liz took along with them the top spot at one of the popular local professional Salsa competitions at Alberto's Night Club.
Their immense passion for this dance led to the formation of SalsaMania Dance Company, in year 2000. SalsaMania Dance Co., which is now a 60-member salsa troupe, is one of the seven Bay Area troupes that pop up every now and then to spin, shine, dip and shake to the sounds of rhythmic music, leaving the Bay Area audiences wide-eyed and screaming with delight.
Salsamania Dance Company, is in particular known for its flamboyant spirit, fast footwork, flashy and complicated patterns. This incredible group has participated in many salsa congresses locally and worldwide.
John and Liz, in their inherent humble nature, believe that sharing their knowledge and talent of salsa with troupe members had allowed them to build their own dancing skills. "We started the troupe to have fun," said John and Liz. "To teach others what we know and do presentations as a group", they continued. Despite the enormous effort that they are required to put, John and Liz enjoy leading Salsamania Dance Company because they love dancing salsa. "We can express ourselves on the dance floor," said John and Liz. "Salsa is a way that we actually have a sense of peace."
