Beginner (1):
Someone who is developing a foundation in the basic step, timing, and cross-body lead. He or she should be able to do single turns, basic footwork and simple partnering to slow and moderate music. If someone is just starting out or has taken one or two beginning series, we highly recommend the Beginner's Bootcamp.
Intermediate (2): Has a solid grasp of in the basic step, timing, and cross-body lead. He or she should be able to do lead and perform double turns, footwork patterns, and has the ability to memorize complex partnering combinations to moderate music. In Rico Bravo's words "An intermediate dancer steps on all 8 beats of the music while doing footwork".
Advanced (3): Has mastered all the basic techniques and has a repertoire of complex combinations and syncopated footwork. At this level, the dancer can lead or follow advanced footwork, lead multiple turns, and partnering combinations to faster music. In the words of Rico Bravo, "An advance dancer can step on every beat and in between beats while doing footwork with precision to the music".
